In Sweden, pike are fearsome predators.
They are known for their agility, the violence of their attacks and their ability to blend into their aquatic environment.
Their preferred habitat includes lakes, rivers and the brackish waters of the Baltic Sea.
They feed mainly on fish, but their diet can include frogs and small aquatic mammals.
In winter, their activity decreases due to the cold waters, but they remain present under the ice, waiting for hunting opportunities.
These habits underline their adaptation to a variable environment and their essential role in the Swedish aquatic ecosystem.
